Prayer for Peace and Compassion

praying hands and light shining

Father, be with us today. In the business of this day and every day help us to take time to hear Your voice speak to our hearts. Where we need to take a break from some or all of our activities show us. If we have failed to spend quality time with those we love make us aware. Protect us from the god of success at the cost of our relationship with You, our spouse and children. Speak to our hearts when we need to shut off all of the technology in our lives whether it is using our Smart Phone, tablet or lap top.

Help us to take time to soak in the beauty of Your creation. The trees swaying with the wind, the birds singing their happy songs, the joy of the laughter of children, our cats or dogs who love us and so much want us to play with them– these things remind us of how much You love us. As we are thankful for how much You love us let us never forget that You call us to be people of compassion. In our practical giving to those in need, smile, handshake, prayer and our outstretched hands of caring, we are Your ambassadors of love. Give us open hearts that listen and respond to the needs around us as we change people’s lives with the power of Your love in us. Amen.
