Life Lived That Love Would Live In Us

three Marys at tombv1

Father, thank you for the life of Your one and only Son

Who walked through wind, rain and scorching desert sun

He helped blinded eyes to see

How by loving You they can be set free

He heard others in their times of darkest despair

Said cast on Me your every care

Your Son walked upon this earth

Teaching others how to You they are of such great worth

For this He was despised, beaten, betrayed and rejected

A mocking cross, the sign, “King of the Jews,” was erected

As crimson blood flowed at Calvary

He still prayed for sinful humanity

As He said, “My God, my God, Why have you forsaken me?”

He felt a piercing agony

As He said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit”

You opened Heaven’s gate wide

That with You He would forever abide

We are thankful that death did not hold Your Son

Oh, death, where is your victory?

Oh, grave, where is your sting?

Christ rose and of this with hope we sing

That though we live in a world of engulfing fear

Let this truth to us be clear

Though all evil should seek over us to prevail

Your love will never fail

No weapon of darkness formed against us will win

Because Your love in us dwells within

That even if my life should be taken from me

With You will be my forever song of joy in eternity
